Objective:
This module will provide practical guidance to enable legal apprentices to deal with telephone calls and initial enquiries and communicate effectively on the telephone. It also shows delegates how to conduct themselves well in meetings.

  • Taking telephone calls and passing enquiries on to the relevant person
  • Listening and speaking on the telephone
  • Taking accurate telephone messages
  • Attending and listening in meetings
  • Taking meeting notes
  • Preparing action lists following meetings
  • Communicating effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Resolving issues that arise or passing them to appropriate colleagues to resolve. 

Outcomes:
The success measures of this course are to ensure that participants:

  • Develop their message and note taking skills;
  • Improve their performance when dealing with clients, colleagues and others on the telephone and in person; and
