To become a more confident and structured networker.
Topics:
  • Introduction to networking within the context of Business Development (BD)
  • The aims of networking – why network?
  • How to prepare for an event 
  • What to do during an event to make the most of any networking opportunities 
  • How to initiate a conversation and build rapport to keep the conversation going 
  • How to end a conversation and get agreement to maintain contact
  • What to do post event – follow up actions
  • How to measure success – post-event evaluation


Outcomes:
The success measures are:
  • Having an increased understanding of the significance of effective networking as a useful BD tool; 
  • Understanding the need to prepare and plan for all networking events to maximise the time invested; and
  • Developing individual personal networking skills
