About this course:

Objective:
The objectives of this course are to provide trainees with practical guidance on effective techniques for participating in meetings, to develop the skills necessary for taking effective meeting notes, and to ensure that they are able to manage a client meeting or an internal meeting effectively.

PSC and SQE Trainees

  • When you need to have a meeting
  • Preparation and organisation - assessing the information and analysing the issues; identifying meeting objectives and questions
  • Structuring the meeting effectively and managing time
  • The role of the chair and working as a team within a meeting – roles and responsibilities
  • Communicating with the client and dealing with the unexpected
  • Discussing the effective use of virtual alternative meeting technologies e.g. conferencing by telephone, video and desktop

Outcomes:
The success measures of this course are:
  • Have reflected upon and developed their skills to bring more structure, clarity and professionalism to all client and internal meetings;
  • Be able to strike the right balance between empathy and objectivity, client focus and practicality; and
  • Be able to use newer technologies with just as much professionalism as they conduct face to face meetings.
